How long does a project take?
On average, 2-3 weeks from start to finish.
How does payment work?
A £200 deposit gets us started – that’s half of the total build fee. The remaining £200 is invoiced around 3 weeks later, once everything’s ready to go live.
How many revisions do I get?
Unlimited, right up until launch. Within that 2-3 week window I can take on up to 5-6 pages, including all our meetings and feedback along the way.
What do I need from you to get started?
A few things help us hit the ground running: an idea of your colours and theme (my interactive colour tool is a great way to figure this out if you’re not sure), some photos, a bit of content (it doesn’t need to be finished), how many pages you’re thinking, how urgent it is or any deadlines you have, whether you already have a domain name, whether you’d like an email address matching your domain, and how many years of hosting you’d like (1, 2, or 4).
Who owns the website once it's finished?
You do, completely. The website and everything in it belongs to you, with no restrictions.
What happens with hosting and domains?
Once your site is live, I hand everything over to you and walk you through some basic editing so you’re comfortable making small changes yourself. Most clients go for 4 years of hosting since it works out cheapest long-term, and you’re welcome to come back to me for a renewal discount once that’s up. Domains are owned by you and can either be set up by you directly, or I can help you get one sorted.
What if I need to cancel?
The deposit isn’t refundable. If you cancel within 14 days from the start date, you won’t owe the remaining balance. Hosting can be refunded within 30 days through the provider – domains are separate and outside of my control, so that’s between you and the domain provider.
Do you offer support after my site is live?
Yes – support is billed at £20 an hour, written into our contract from the start. You can also hire me separately just for WordPress or Squarespace support at the same rate, billed in 30-minute blocks (minimum £10 for the first 30 minutes, then £10 per additional 30 minutes).
What if something breaks after launch?
If it’s something I caused, it’s fixed for free. If it’s outside of my control, it’s billed at £10 for the first 30 minutes of work.
What platforms do you build on?
I currently work with WordPress, but I can help with Squarespace, Vistaprint, and Wix.
